Meet and greet: 7:pm, Session: 7:30pm. Frances’s description of her session is: Music in Spain around 1500…and a bit later. In the late 15^th and 16^th centuries Spain was a hotbed of musical activity. Spanish-born composers as well as those from Portugal and, in particular, the Low Countries worked side by side at courts and cathedrals. We will play four pieces – three secular and one sacred work.  ”

Frances Blaker received her Music Pedagogical and Performance degrees from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen where she studied with Eva Legêne. She also studied with Marion Verbruggen in the Netherlands. She plays with Ensemble Vermillian, the Farallon Recorder Quartet, Calextone, and Tibia Recorder Duo. She has served on the ARS Board of Directors. She is co-director of Amherst Early Music. Please register here to attend the session.
