Annual Spring Recital and Reception

The Washington Recorder Society will hold its annual Spring Recital on Saturday, May 6, in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian Church of the Atonement in Silver Spring, Maryland. Performances will feature WRS’s two Antiqua groups, the Nova group, plus numerous other smaller group and individual performances.

Join us after the recital for a beverage and cheese reception in the area outside the sanctuary. Look for more information as the date draws closer.

Recorder Composition Contest Winners

The Washington Recorder Society held a recorder composition contest in 2013 to celebrate our 50-year affiliation with the American Recorder Society. Nineteen entries from across the country and the world were received.

First-place winner was “The Federal Fantasia and Fugue by Glen Shannon. Second-place winner was “The Gypsy Recorder Consort in Washington!” by Keith Terrett. Both pieces were performed at the WRS Spring Recital in May 2013.
